Adaptations take place in your body based on what you do with it. What are you doing to prevent poor posture, a bad back, achy shoulders, AGE? Most of us walk through life aware of these issues, but don’t have the will or discipline to take action. What is it? Are you too busy, too tired, too stressed? These are all just excuses, one’s we tell ourselves everyday.

You often feel tired, not because you've done too much, but because you've done too little. Too little of what it means to thrive, to put the world in order, to do your job as a human being.

Marcus Aurelius once wrote:

“I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for — the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?”

The Roman Emperor would make entries like this in his journal (known to us today as Meditations; one of the greatest contributions to Stoic philosophy in history) to remind himself to contribute to the world, to sharpen his mind and body, to cut himself off from the vices that hold so many back, and from what our nature demands. Greatness.

Think about what you’ve been given. You should be convinced in your heart that you are giving your very best every day. Are you?

Start chipping away… I’ve never heard anyone say they regret getting that workout in, ditching the fast food, waking up early, reading that book.

Jordan Peterson once reminded me in an interview that

“You should be afraid of taking risks and pursuing something meaningful, but you should be more afraid of staying where you are if it’s making you miserable.”

WAKE UP. It’s on you. Your decisions. If you’re miserable, you have to DIG yourself out; you have to CHANGE something. You should be proud of the work you put in on a daily basis, proud of the body you built, proud of the life you created.

You have to find a way to not be defeated. The brave never choose it. Choose courage and a better life.

Life’s choices extend far beyond the gym, what you eat, or anything like that. However, those things are also very powerful tools that shape our existence. They cultivate a positive body image, better mental health, and prepare us for the challenges ahead.

So what’s it going to be? Stay where you’re at, or join us on the road less traveled? We choose the latter.
